here is a story and a reason for every piece of artwork that is created and with it a wide range of interpretations.
Art MIRRORS the emotional experiences of the artist and, equally as important, the viewer's RECEPTIVE RESPONSES are influenced by their own individual life experiences as well. The whole process is equivalent to the unique DANCE we all do in our own subjective lives.
Like a good book, the act of creating art and the process of appreciating art opens the window to get a glimpse into who we are and what makes us tick.
A STORYTELLER NEEDS A LISTENER
I have been fortunate in that I have a wonderful, supportive family and good friends. With this being said, I have also been blessed with a strong passion and drive for creating the NEXT piece of work that tells another story. This language of silent storytelling is supported by the knowledge attained by learning from other artists and instructors. I have had the opportunity to have studied with some well respected and excellent artists such as Daniel Greene, Albert Handell, the late Ben Konis and recently, Clive Tyler. In sculpture, I have had the pleasure of having studied with Trace Guthrie.
Two years ago the Art Cottage became a reality...........a wonderful concept. It is a place in which to enjoy a partnership with other artist, display artworks and a studio in which to work.
Honors and recognition for my art have come my way; but, I can honestly say that having an art home in the Art Cottage and having the opportunity to actually meet mutual art lovers makes it to the TOP OF MY LIST!
Check out my my work and then come on in to visit at the Art Cottage.
